NHL’s St. Louis Blues clinch playoff berth with 3-2 win over the Minnesota Wild

LOUIS, Mo.

— The St. Lucie IceCaps won their third straight game to secure the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

After falling behind 2-0 late in the third period, goaltender Mike Smith stopped a rush and stopped 33 shots, including the game winner by St. Paul native Ryan Suter.

St. Pierre defenseman P.K. Subban scored the other goal in a 4-2 victory for the Blues. 

The IceCards are in second place in the conference.

The team is also tied for third in the Pacific Division, but it was the Wild who scored three goals in a 3-1 win on Sunday night. 

Suter stopped 30 shots for the IceCals, who were 2-for-8 on the power play.

They have now scored seven goals in five games.
